Advancetown Suburb Profile
4209 QLD
Advancetown Suburb Overview
Advancetown is a small rural area located on the outskirts of Gold Coast in South-east Queensland, Australia. Advancetown Lake and Hinze Dam are located here. The hilly landscape of Advancetown facilitates the building of Hinze Dam, which stores water from the Nerang River and Little Nerang Creek, creating Advancetown Lake. This stunning lake is a dominant part of the area and provides water for most of the Gold Coast. Within Advancetown, there are two peaks: Mudgeeraba in the southeast stands at an elevation of 240 metres (790 feet) above sea level, while Pages Pinnacle in the south rises to a height of 398 metres (1,306 feet). Moving towards the northern part of Advancetown from the dam, you will find a flatter terrain with diverse land use that includes residential areas and rural spaces where grazing on native vegetation is common. One noteworthy landmark in this area is Latimers Crossing—a crossing point over the Nerang River between Advancetown and Gilston.
