Andrews Suburb Profile
4219 QLD
Andrews Suburb Overview
Andrews is a former suburb in Queensland, Australia, belonging to the City of Gold Coast. It was established as an area in 1981. It got its name from the Andrews family, who owned a significant portion of the land in that vicinity. However, in 2002, Andrews merged with Stephens and a part of Robina to create Varsity Lakes, which also included the West Burleigh section of Burleigh Heads. As a result, Andrews is no longer recognised as a place. During its development phase, Andrews witnessed the establishment of an industrial zone situated north of the Pacific Highway. This area also included the Reedy Creek commercial waste landfill. Towards the south of this suburb lies a growing residential community that features institutions like St Andrews Lutheran P-12 College (founded in 1993), a church, an aged care facility, and Schuster Park, on Tallebudgera Creek.
