Coomera - Located within the Jurisdiction of the Gold Coast region is currently rated as the 59th Best Suburb on the Gold Coast. There has been a number of large scale Investments from national firms over the recent years that is contributing greatly to the new look and feel of the Coomera area. The opening of the Northern Gold Coast's first Westfield Shopping Centre occurred in Coomera back in 2018 with new additions being added all the time. The Size of Coomera is approximately 24 square kilometres which includes over 30 parks which make up just under 10% of the total area. The current make up on the households in the Coomera area are repaying a mortgage of between $1800 - $2399 per month but this data would have increased significantly since the time of publication due to the recent inflation lead interest rate rises. The majority of the workforce are trades based with home ownership increased from 36.8% in 2016 to 42.9% in 2022.

Demographics

The estimated population for Coomera was slightly over 22,00 as of 2022 with the population forecast set to reach 75,606 by 2041. The current area offers a density of 891.7 People per Square km. Coomera is 24.7 Square km's in size. The make up of the area is 51% female to 49% male with a touch under 7000 Dwellings current completed in the Coomera boundaries. 46% of the residents are married with Scottish, Irish and Maori being the three non english residents spoken and it would come as no surprise that their country of birth ranks as New Zealand, England, South Africa and the Phillipines ( Excluding Australia )

Transport

Coomera has an array of Options starting with the Coomera train Station located at Railway Reserve, 11 Foxwell Road, Coomera. The train station runs from Coomera to Varisty Lakes and up to Brisbane for the Domestic and International Airports, this leg takes approx 60 mins The Coomera Connector between Coomera and Nerang has been identified as priority infrastructure and will commence in the first stage of the development designed to east congestion from the M1. This is a 16km route and commenced works in 2023. The public bus service operated by translink always flows constant and freely through out the area. The bus service is operated from the same connecting point as the Train Station from Foxtell Road, Coomera.

Education

Coomera is home to Tafe Queensland’s Gold Coast campus. There are five early learning centres in Coomera. Currently, the closest primary school is either Coomera State School across the road from WhiteWater World or Coomera Rivers State School, but a third primary school is also currently proposed for the suburb. There is currently no high school in Coomera, but Pimpama State Secondary College is located in the neighbouring suburb, with Coomera High School set to open in 2020.

Amenities

Coomera's impressive list of amenities is greater than most and has the highest number of activities out of any suburb on the Gold Coast. The Dreamworld Theme-park is international recognised and is the biggest drawcard for the Coomera area. Coomera Town Centre is the first Westfield shopping centre in the Northern Part of the Gold Coast and has many additions currently being added to accomodate the recent surge in population.   1. Dreamworld: This is one of the best tourist destinations in the world.  Try to go during the week, as the weekends can get crazy
  2. WhiteWater World is fun for all ages, a water park that rivals anything that is offered.  Great weekend adventure playground.
  3. Garage 25 –  Owned and operated by Tony Longhurst, if you are a mooring enthusiast and love a good brew,.  This should be the first item on your list.
  4. Westfield Coomera is one of the newer Westfield’s to open in Queensland and one that has been scoped for future growth.  All of the expected shops and services are located within this precinct
  5. Coomera Houseboat Hire: Get out on the Coomera River and hire a houseboat.  It was a great weekend activity to take the family and have a BBQ on the water.
